Church of St. John of Nepomuk
(Czech: Kostel sv. Jana Nepomuckého)
The Church of St. John of Nepomuk is situated in Kanovnická Street at Hradčany. It is the first work by the famous Czech architect Kilian Ignaz Dientzenhofer in Prague.
He also constructed buildings such as the St. Nicholas church, St. Bartholomew church or Goltz-Kinsky Palace in Prague.
The Construction was carried out from 1720 till 1729 and the church was consecrated shortly after the canonisation of John of Nepomuk.
In 1784 Emperor Joseph II closed the church and it was added to the military's coffers and then even served as a salt warehouse for some time.
