The Schwarzenberg Palace at Hradčanské Square is an inherent part of the Prague Castle panorama and one of the most striking historic buildings in Prague.
The Palace was built between 1445-1567 for the aristocratic Lobkowicz family and rebuild several times over the centuries until the Schwarzenbergs family gained it in 1719.
The Schwarzenberg Palace is a significant Early Renaissance building with beautiful example of the use of sgraffito on an elaborately decorated facade.
Now the palace is owned by the National Gallery.
